A quick glass painting ...

House cleaning activity over the last weekend revealed that some of the glass paints I have getting dried up. It forced me to think of utilising the ones which are in good condition and here is the output.

These colorful parrots attracted my daughter a lot and she keeps kissing them :)

Here are the two images, taken with different background and lighting ... appears differently .... that is the beauty of glass paintings.

Darling Naksha

Hello All, 

  Here is my new portrait work, an order from a friend - Mr Gopi and this cute girl is his daughter Naksha. A birthday gift from a father to his daughter ... such a nice thing.

When I got a call from him few months back for a portrait, I was little hesitant, considering the orders I had. But knowing my situation, he gave me 2 months time.

Lucky that I got an opportunity to paint this awesome contagious smile. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a smiling kid. May god give you all the happiness in the world, Dear Naksha.

Lady with Diyas

Hello Everyone,

I am back with my new work - Lady with Diyas. This is based on a photography of Mr. Prakash Hegde, in which he has awesomely captured his beautiful wife Mrs. Asha.

Decided to paint the picture, the day when I saw that for the first time. However, I was hesitant to do that, actually scared of spoiling her beautiful face. But time has come now ... somehow I have gathered all the confidence and here is the output.

With an active toddler at home, the only peaceful time to work is at night, once my daughter goes to bed. But for this particular picture, it was really difficult to get the right tones at nights. I really appreciate the help provided by my husband .. he took care of our kid, took her out, cooked food, worked from home, cancelled his weekend plans and what not.... just to allow me to work in day light and complete the work to my satisfaction.

Received lot of appreciation for this work, and most importantly both Prakashanna and Ashakka loved it :)

Cutie pie - Ivaan

Here is my recent portrait work.. used oil colors on canvas..

 I usually don't upload my students' work or orders in this blog but this one is little close to my heart so thought of sharing with you all..

This adorable child's name is Ivaan, son of my friend Praneet. May god bless him all the happiness in the world, have a great life sweetheart:-)

Abhijna

I always struggle to find a good gift for my husband ..problem is to decide what to gift..wanted to give something special this time - a painting.

As he always insists me to work on portraits, thought of doing it this time and who else can be a better model than your daughter  :)  and here is an oil painting of our darling daughter Abhijna.

The best part is - he said this is the best B'day gift he has received so far. Also my mother thinks the painting looks exactly like a photograph of my daughter.

These are the words which keep an artist in me alive and give me so much confidence to do more portraits.

Oriental dwarf kingfisher

   I got an opportunity to watch these tiny colorful birds in our native place, since then I wanted to capture them on my canvas.. Time has come now!
