Glass Painting - Peacock

/hihi

Hello everyone, here is my latest work and I am happy to announce that I am madly in love with Glass Art :)  As glass painting is beautiful, clear and simple art, it's becoming very popular nowadays.

I have used normal glass colors on a plain glass of the size 2*1 ft and took just 4 days to finish the work and 'am very happy with the outcome :)

We have seen similar work in a shopping mall, which was priced at Rs 2000. To be honest, that (the price !!) is the inspiration.

This is the beauty of glass painting, looks different based on the background and the lighting ....

One of my close friends had told me that the greatest of all the pleasures is to hold in your hands and see for yourself what you have created. Very true!

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi

/hihi
Here is my way of wishing you all a very happy Ganesh Chaturthi, through a mural. In fact, this is my first Mixed Media Mural !

It is a combination of Cermaic, Clay, Siporex, Glass and Copper on a plywood base and painted using oil color. As plywood is used as the base for this work, this can be only used for interior purpose.

I have used Siporex, light weight cement block, for Ganesha. As this is my first experience with carving the stone, I felt it's tough although I could manage that using a knife.

Glass pieces and pebbles are used here for the texture on the glass, with epoxy coating.

After a long time, I got the complete satisfaction from this work. Good appreciation in FB is icing on the cake :)

Happy Festive Season :) /bye

Hand Embroidery on Silk Sarees

/hihi

Here I have uploaded some of the embroidery works on Silk sarees, which I did for my Aunt.

  Simple Kutch work

I have used chained buttonhole stitch for the pallu

Here are few tips--
# The thread path is very important- the thread always goes up and down alternatively, this keeps the embroidery intact.looks attractive also. If there is a small mistake also you can easily identify...
# Take time to draw the design as perfect and neat as possible, otherwise it is difficult to move around and simultaneously rectify the original design.
# Practice a lot before trying on a saaree.. understanding the thread path is the better way.

The finished basic square looks like this-

Kamal Kadai embroidery using Cone thread, which gives 3D effect for the work

You can put glass and kundan in embroidery to make it more beautiful..My Aunt doesn't like the shiny things so I kept it simple,,

I think I have posted quite a lot of posts under the label Handicrafts in last few months, its high time to work on some paintings :)

Stocking Flowers ..

/hihi

Stocking flowers, the most colorful and creative one. Its a very interesting craft and anyone can try out easily. I wasn't sure of which flower I should do, so I ended up with a bunch of flowers.

I read they were very popular in the 70s. The best thing about these flowers is the flexibility with which you can shape the petals and flowers in any desirable form.

These flowers can be used as decoration in vases, jewellery and accessories. May be you will get to see more flowers here because I started loving it ;)

Water, Water Everywhere !!!!!!

/hihi
Here I am with a water color work, finished just now !!!! As it is very small and stupid one, I took just half an hour to finish it off.  For the first time my husband gave a bad expression after looking at my work and I am very happy for that ;)

Ultimately playing with colors for me is a Mood Freshener ... so at times, I may post this kind of work and you may need to bear with me ;)

Handmade Paper Boxes

/hihi

Here are few paper boxes and a bag, I have prepared from handmade paper. This is the first time I have tried this, that's why did not spent money to buy lase, rather used jute thread we had at home. Long way to go :)

They are super easy to make and are perfect for the little gift that needs just the right sized box. Of late, started loving this and planning to learn some more so that I can consider taking orders :)
